Ithaca Fire Department Engine 909 Truck crash into pole closes Route 13 south of Ithaca - Route 13 is closed between Route 13A (5 Mile Drive) and 7 Mile Drive south of Ithaca, after a box truck crashed into a utility pole near the Rodeway Inn, in the 600 block of Elmira Road. Department of Transportation officials say the highway could be closed for up to two hours.
Arboretum at Cornell Botanic Gardens closed to vehicles for the winter - The F. R. Newman Arboretum at Cornell University's Botanic Gardens is closed for the winter season as of dusk on Thursday, December 7th. Pedestrians will still be welcome to access the area.

Ithaca Police Department Hudson Street closed due to Ithaca Police operation, says Tompkins County - UPDATE: The police operation is over and Hudson Street has reopened to traffic, says IPD. Tompkins County officials said Hudson Street was closed on Ithaca's South Hill from Hillview to Grandview for a police operation. The South Hill School will be dismissed from the back of the building.
GIAC closed Monday due to a water main break - The Greater Ithaca Activities Center (GIAC) building in Downtown Ithaca is closed for the rest of the day on Monday due to a water main break. 
Nighttime road striping tonight, says City of Ithaca - The City of Ithaca has heard the pleas to do disruptive road stripe painting at night, not during the day with its heavy traffic, and that's the plan for tonight's road striping on Route 13.

Cornell University Seal That siren you hear is Cornell testing its emergency notification system - Early Wednesday afternoon, Cornell University is conducting a test of its emergency mass notification systems. Sirens on campus will be heard around Ithaca as the test is conducted at 12:10pm.
Detour Expect Route 13 delays in Ithaca’s west end due to striping work - A roadway striping contractor “will be painting crosswalks, stop bars and traffic symbols” on Route 13 in Ithaca’s west end on Thursday and Friday, according to the City of Ithaca. Painting will occur along Route 13 between the intersection of Willow and Dey Streets near the Haunt, and the intersection of Seneca Street with both Fulton and Meadow Streets, on both northbound and southbound lanes. There will also be painting work on Green Street and Seneca Street near their intersections with Route 13. Work will start around 7am and end around 6pm both days. “Motorists should expect temporary lane closures and delays, and are encouraged to seek alternate routes if possible,” say city officials. Sewer line replacement will close Route 96B on Ithaca’s south hill - Route 96B (South Aurora Street) on Ithaca's South Hill will be closed this Tuesday and Wednesday for repair and replacement of a blocked sewer line pipe, according to Ithaca officials. TCAT says two bus routes will be detoured.
