For years, we’ve compiled Ithaca’s most comprehensive listing of eateries that are open and closed around the holidays. This week, we want to pay special attention to the special dining and music plans for New Year’s Eve.
Agava on Ithaca’s east hill is open New Year’s Eve with live music from the Fall Creek Brass Band, and they have a hotel deal available that includes a ticket for the music and a gift card to put towards dinner.
The Rook has a three-course prix-fixe New Year’s Eve dinner with optional beverage pairing.
The Inn at Taughannock has a New Year’s Eve dinner with live music from The Overrated.
Gola Osteria is offering a “surprise” menu for their New Year’s Eve dinner.
The Heights Restaurant has a Chef’s five-course menu as well as their a la carte menu for New Year’s Eve.
The Inns of Aurora has a four-course menu with optional wine pairing on New Year’s Eve with roaring fireplaces, live music, and “plenty of champagne.”
ZaZa’s Cucina is open for dinner until 9:30pm, and has live music from Thru Spectrums and New Year’s Eve festivities until 1am.
Maxie’s Supper Club has two special fixed-price menus lined up for New Year’s Eve, as well as their regular menu.
Northstar Public House is holding a New Year’s Day brunch, with free prosecco for parties with a reservation.
Papa John’s Pizza will be open both New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
Red’s Place is open their usual hours on New Year’s Eve, and opening just for dinner at 4pm on New Year’s Day.
Simeon’s is open for brunch and dinner until 10pm on New Year’s Eve, and brunch and dinner on New Year’s Day.
Uncle Joe’s Grill & Sports Bar will be open at noon on New Year’s Day for the football games.
Luna Inspired Street Food is open until 10pm on New Year’s Eve and closed New Year’s Day.
The Seabring Inn is open their usual hours on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
Collegetown Bagels locations are closing early on New Year’s Eve and closed on New Year’s Day, and Ithaca Bakery is closing early New Year’s Eve and open 8am-4pm on New Year’s Day.
I just want music!
Argos Inn is hosting a two-space event, taking advantage of their new warehouse event space next door, with Mike Stark, Analogue Sons Core, and special guests playing at the warehouse until 11pm, followed by DJ Cappel, and Stark Jazz later in the Bar Argos lounge. $25 tickets ($30 at the door) are good for both spaces.
Driftwood is playing a New Year’s Eve show with special guest Milkweed at the Haunt.
K-House Karaoke Lounge is holding a New Year’s Eve pajama party “from 6pm until 4am or later,” with free admission in their lounge and bar area and standard rates in the private karaoke suites.
Lot 10 has their fourth annual New Year’s Eve bash featuring the Big Mean Sound Machine with the Ithaca Bottom Boys upstairs and DJ ha-MEEN spinning downstairs. Tickets are $25 in advance and $35 day of the show.
Opera Ithaca’s third annual New Year’s Eve Gala features Gilbert & Sullivan’s “The Pirates of Penzance” at the Hangar Theatre on Sunday. Doors open at 8 for light food and a cash bar, the show starts at 9, and there’s a midnight toast with the cast afterwards. They’re also performing the show at the Smith Opera House in Geneva on Saturday, December 30th.
The Range has soul, R&B, and funk from the NEO Project and a champagne toast to ring in the new year, with a $5 cover.
Farrell’s Pub in Groton has A Fine Line playing from 9pm-1am. AFL offers original tunes and covers “with sax appeal and a relaxed feel.”
Vee Da Bee is playing a Pajama Party show at the Creekside Tavern in Wilseyville, with no cover and a complimentary champagne toast at midnight.
