“The time has come for me to shift musical gears,” said singer-songwriter Jen Cork as she announced the last show “for a while, anyway” of The Good Hope, her musical ensemble that offers “dark bluesy fictional folk-jazz.” The show is this Thursday from 7-9pm at Casita del Polaris.
“Your support over the past few years has made this decision bittersweet, but the Gemini in me is ready to get started on a new musical chapter,” Jen said on the Facebook event page for Thursday’s show.
The early evening show will feature music from the band’s 2015 album “Forever to Fall,” as well as newer and older unrecorded material.
This afternoon, Jen added, “I just learned that we will have a very special guest joining us and I cannot wait to share it all with you!”
Casita del Polaris is Northstar Public House‘s event space, at 1201 North Tioga Street, in Ithaca’s Fall Creek neighborhood, adjacent to the restaurant in the building that used to house Fall Creek Pictures. There’s an $8 suggested donation for the show, and CDs will be available for sale.
