Burns & Kristy say it will be “a beautiful, fun night of music and community.” Their sixth annual holiday show is this Friday night at the First Unitarian Society of Ithaca.
Terry Burns and Ron Kristy met at a mutual friend’s party in Nashville about a dozen years ago, and the way the story goes, after hearing her sing, Ron decided to “take the chance of a lifetime” and ask if she’d like to get together sometime and “talk about music.” Since then, they fell in love, got married, and had a sweet little boy named Noah Skye.
The pair perform their own Americana songs, and will bring some covers and traditional holiday songs to bear for the holiday concert. “After a tough election season,” Terry and Ron say, “we hope this will be a night of healing, a gathering of our collective light, of beauty, friendship and fun.”
The show is from 8-10pm this Friday, December 9th, at the First Unitarian Society at the corner of East Buffalo and North Aurora Streets in Downtown Ithaca. Pre-sale tickets are at brownpapertickets.com, and there’s a suggested $15 donation at the door. “All are welcome,” Terry and Ron insist. “Pay what you can, but even if you have no money, your presence is so meaningful and valuable to us.”
