The Golden for Congress campaign is hosting a “gathering to build the movement” this Monday evening at Ithaca’s American Legion post. Ian Golden is running against Representative Tom Reed in 2018 for New York’s 23rd Congressional District seat.
Monday’s gathering is “to celebrate our recent successes and to build the momentum needed to take on Tom Reed,” according to the campaign. “Our movement has come as far as it has because of the contributions of working and middle class families.”
“I’ve been told I’m too short, that I can’t win because I’ve had facial hair, because I don’t dress the part, because I’m from Tompkins County,” says Golden, who’s running against a Republican from Western New York who has defeated three Ithaca-area Democrats in a row.
The campaign event is from 6:30-8:30pm on Monday, December 4 at the American Legion at 1231 Danby Road, with hors d’oeuvres and desserts provided, and a cash bar set up by the American Legion. Everyone is welcome regardless of ability to make campaign contributions.
