Got socks? If you have brand new, warm socks to spare, Sunny Days has once again launched a “Dobby Sock Drive” to benefit the Women’s Opportunity Center.
House elf Dobby, sticking around after last month’s Wizarding Weekend in Downtown Ithaca, is presiding over the sock collection. It’s the second annual sock drive.
The nice folks at Sunny Days, a beautiful locally focused retail store on the corner of Cayuga and Green Streets, say if you donate any pair of socks, you’ll get 15% off your purchase of any single item at the store.
Sunny Days is always open at least 10am-8pm every day, just off the Commons, next to City Hall and across from the Tompkins County Public Library. They offer a constantly changing array of local souvenirs, useful handmade winterwear, t-shirts, books, calendars, artwork, specialty foods, local sodas, and more.
All types of socks, “women’s, children’s, men’s, casual, formal,” are welcome, they say. The Sock Drive is running until Thanksgiving.
