Need some materials for a house project? Happy to use “previously owned” lighting, cabinets, doors, windows, plumbing, or other hardware? The Finger Lakes ReUse Center at the Triphammer Marketplace has all building materials on sale this week.
Finger Lakes ReUse is a non-profit that helps to save reusable items when old buildings are torn down or when items are removed from a house for a renovation, saving them from having to go to a landfill forever, and making them available to homeowners or apartment dwellers for a reasonable price compared to new items in the store.
Their two store locations, at the Triphammer Marketplace and at 214 Elmira Road in Ithaca’s southwest, help with the mission to divert “hundreds of tons of materials related to construction, computers, electronics, household goods, sporting equipment, textiles, and furniture” from Tompkins County’s waste stream.
The Triphammer ReUse Center has all building items priced $10 or more reduced to $5, and all items under $10 selling for just $1, this week through November 5th. The store is open 10am-6pm Monday through Saturday, and 10am-5pm on Sunday.
