Nighttime road striping tonight, says City of Ithaca

The City of Ithaca has heard the pleas to do disruptive road stripe painting at night, not during the day with its heavy traffic, and that’s the plan for tonight’s road striping on Route 13.

The Department of Public Works says a contractor will be “restriping the roadway edge lines and dashed lines on Route 13” from the city line near Boynton Middle School on Ithaca’s northside down to Seneca Street, along Meadow and Fulton Streets.

The work will start around 8pm and will last for several hours. “Motorists should expect temporary traffic delays,” says the City.

Last week, striping crews created a snarl by painting on roads in Ithaca’s west end and downtown during rush hour on Thursday and Friday, as well as on a busy Saturday.
