This Tuesday, we celebrated the 25th anniversary of 14850 Magazine with an event at Luna Inspired Street Food, and Mayor Svante Myrick issued a proclamation naming it 14850 Magazine Day in the City of Ithaca!
We teamed up with Luna Inspired Street Food in Collegetown to help them introduce their new fall menu to the community, and we used the occasion to raise money for our friends at the Just Be Cause Center.
The event was fantastic, with lots of friends old and new stopping by, some excellent food courtesy of Matt and Kevin at Luna, amazing prizes from a variety of generous local businesses, and a successful fundraiser for the Just Be Cause Center. Thanks to everyone who took the time to stop by, even if it was just for a few minutes!
Our thanks also to Mayor Myrick for the proclamation recognizing 14850 Magazine’s 25 years of contributing to the Ithaca community.
The proclamation reads:
City of Ithaca Proclamation
Whereas, 14850 Magazine was founded in the City of Ithaca in 1992; and
Whereas, 14850 Magazine has been published by Ithaca-based corporation Public Communications, Inc. first as a print publication and then as an online publication for 25 years; and

Now, therefore, I, SVANTE MYRICK, Mayor of the City of Ithaca, do hereby proclaim Tuesday, October 17th, 2017 as:
14850 Magazine Day
In the City of Ithaca
In Witness whereof, I have hereto set my hand and caused the great seal of the City of Ithaca to be affixed this the 16th day of October in the year 2017.
The Just Be Cause Not-for-Profit Development Center, which opened in 2013, is a non-profit equivalent to a business incubator facility, offering affordable office and meeting space to area non-profit organizations. The west-end building, formerly the Ithaca Paint Company building, was renovated to offer five office spaces, as well as shared conference, meeting, and activity spaces, with modern rest rooms, air conditioning, and Wi-Fi. The building is dedicated to the late Judy Dietz, who died in 2012.
