The action begins Friday at 6pm as the Carleton Ravens come to Lynah for an early 6pm puck drop against the Big Red women’s team. As Cornell’s women start their 45th season, the 12th year behind the bench for head coach Doug Derraugh, the squad features just twelve returning players and seven newcomers.

Carleton, from Pembroke, Ontario, already has eight exhibition games behind them, with a 4-4 record coming into this weekend. The Big Red women host a pair of home games against Mercyhurst next weekend, with 3pm starts both Friday and Saturday, before heading on the road for games at RPI, Union, and Colgate.

This Saturday’s annual Red-White game is a free opportunity for fans and community members to check out both men’s and women’s teams. The 7:30pm event will feature two 30-minute halves, plus power-play situations and a shoot-out to end the contest.

The men’s team will host a pair of exhibition games next weekend, with 7pm starts Friday and Saturday against the University of Ontario Institute of Technology and Brock University, before opening their regular season with five games on the road. They’ll be at Merrimack on October 28th, then at Dartmouth and Harvard the first weekend of November. Their first regular season home weekend is against Quinnipiac and Princeton, on November 18th and 19th.

In addition to the hockey, Saturday’s Red-White game features door prizes donated by local businesses, with raffle tickets available for purchase to benefit the Cornell Hockey Association, which supports both teams.

Friday and Saturday’s games are at Lynah Rink, on Campus Road across from Cornell’s Schoellkopf Field.
