The National Weather Service in Binghamton has issued a frost advisory that’s in effect from 1am to 9am on Tuesday morning, or overnight tonight, for Tompkins County and surrounding areas.
The NWS says temperatures are expected to be in the low to mid 30s across Central New York, with a forecast low of 32° in Ithaca. That means unprotected plants that are sensitive to cold may be damaged or killed. Colder areas such as hilltops and low-lying rural valleys are especially susceptible to temperatures colder than the forecast.
If you have sensitive plants outside, bring them inside or cover them overnight.
After tonight, lows the next few nights will be in the 40s and 50s.
The frost advisory is in effect from 1am until 9am across Central New York, the Southern Tier, and adjacent counties of northern Pennsylvania.
