Put on your kilt and round up your kids and head to Stewart Park this Saturday for the ninth annual Ithaca Celtic Festival! Discount tickets are available online before the event begins at 10am.
The festival includes a three-stage lineup of local and regional bands such as Traonach, the Brigadoons, and Doolin O’Dey, plus performances by Ithacapella and the Finger Lakes Fife & Drum Corps, as well as fiber arts and historical textile demonstrations, Gaelic language instruction, Highland athletics competitions, Irish dance instruction, wool dyeing, and kilt-making demonstrations.
There will be plenty of food and craft vendors on hand, including a beer and wine tent, and lots of kid-friendly activities. The History Center of Tompkins County will be on hand to talk about the history of Celtic populations in the Finger Lakes, and Zero Waste of Rochester will help make the event sustainable and low-impact.
The Ithaca Celtic Festival runs 10am-6pm at Stewart Park on Saturday, October 8th. Ticket sales and event and music schedules are available at ithacacelticfestival.com.
