Fall is the time to celebrate a bountiful harvest, and this week the P&C Fresh supermarket on Ithaca’s east hill is celebrating with a couple dozen special guests, including local farms, beverage and dairy producers.
This Thursday, October 5th, the family-owned store has a one-day sale with unusual discounts, and from 4-7 Thursday afternoon, they’ll have food sampling, beer sampling, live entertainment, K-9 dogs from the Cornell University Police Departments, and representatives from Cops, Kids & Toys accepting new, unwrapped toys for the upcoming holiday season.
P&C owner Greg Young says producers like Wagner Beer and Hazlitt Cider, Tumino Cheese and Emmy’s Organics, Hilker Haven Honey and Hunter-Hilsberg Jams & Jellies, Byrne Dairy and Bimbo Bakery, Korb Family Farm and Elmhurst Nut Milks, Learning Farm Juicer and Copper Horse Coffee, and distributors like River Valley and Seneca Beverage will be on hand with tastings. The Ampersand Project will provide live music.
The small regional grocery chain focuses on local farms and producers, and offers the area’s only grocery delivery service.
