A “super sweet” free event this Tuesday at the Hangar Theatre will feature author Megan Shull in conversation with Mayor Svante Myrick, to celebrate the release of Disney’s movie of Megan’s book “The Swap” and her latest book, “Bounce.”
Megan is an award-winning author of five books for kids, born and raised right here in Ithaca. She has a doctorate in educational philosophy from Cornell, and returned to Ithaca to live and write.
HarperCollins says Megan’s new book, “Bounce,” is “another hilarious, heartwarming, and empowering novel about a girl who relives the same day over and over again — each time as someone new.” Her last success, “The Swap,” has just been made into an original Disney Channel movie.
Organizers say the event is perfect for “parents, caregivers, teachers, young readers (age 10-14), and old readers.” Both “The Swap” and “Bounce” will be available for sale courtesy of Buffalo Street Books, and Megan will be signing books after the talk. (Buffalo Street Books will also have plenty of copies of both books at the store downtown this week.)
If you can’t make it to the Hangar Theatre on Tuesday, you can order a personalized, signed copy from Buffalo Street Books!
Doors open at 6pm for the 7pm event at Ithaca’s Hangar Theatre at 801 Taughannock Boulevard, aka Route 89. The event is free and open to the public, and seating is limited, so organizers suggest arriving early.
