The City of Ithaca says NYSEG crews will be working on a gas line on the 300 and 400 blocks of South Albany Street, so the road will be closed to thru traffic during work hours starting Tuesday.
According to Ithaca officials, “residents will have access to their driveways, though may experience delays,” and Albany Street will be open for drivers in the evening and on the weekend, though some of the on-street parking will be taken up by the contractor’s equipment and materials.
The sidewalk on the west side of the street will be closed, and pedestrians will be detoured to the sidewalk on the east side. Drivers will be detoured to South Geneva Street.
The affected portion of South Albany Street is between Clinton Street and North Titus Street. The project starts September 5 and should be done in early October.
