The United Way says proceeds from sales of reusable drink cups and shirts at today’s Gunpoets show on the Ithaca Commons will go to the Hurricane Harvey Disaster Relief Fund. That’s just one of the worthwhile things going on tonight.
One of the most-anticipated shows of the CFCU summer concert series in Downtown Ithaca, the Gunpoets return to share their family-friendly, positive hip-hop message. Two years ago, the Gunpoets show was the first on the brand-new Bernie Milton Pavilion, at the north end of the Tioga Street “Bank Alley” stretch of the Ithaca Commons.
The United Way of Tompkins County has compiled a list of the organizations that are seeking resources, what they need, and how you can contact them, at www.uwtc.org/harvey.
Six Mile Creek Winery also hosts a Thursday evening music series on east hill, and tonight’s Radio London show promises lots of danceable ’60s music. There’s no cover for the 6-8pm show; wine and beer are available for purchase, and Six Mile Creek usually has a food truck in the parking lot on Thursday evenings.
Also this evening is the “Tacos for Truth” fundraiser at The Loft at the Carriage House Cafe in Collegetown to support local journalism. Portions of the proceeds from sales of Bickering Twins taco platters and cocktails from The Loft will be donated to The Ithaca Voice, a local non-profit online news site.
Later on, there’s live music at The Range, featuring the Mutron Warriors. The show should begin shortly after 9pm.
