Ithaca hobby shop the Enchanted Badger says they’re closing in a month

The owners of the Enchanted Badger game and hobby shop in Ithaca’s southwest announced Wednesday they’re not renewing their lease. A clearance sale starts Saturday.

Enchanted Badger going out of business“This has been the best five years of our lives, and we hope that the friendships and groups that have sprung up within these green walls thrive after the doors close,” they said in an announcement. “We want to thank all of you for being the most appreciative, loving, dedicated, and caring bunch of nerds anyone could ever ask for.”

Enchanted Badger sells games and gaming supplies, and hosts gaming events, some free and some not. “Despite our wonderful gaming community,” they say, “the numbers do not support the continuation of our endeavors.”

Upcoming events before the store closes include an “Hour of Devastation” game day on August 5 and  “Champions of the Badger” WarMachine tournament on August 12.

A clearance sale starts Saturday, August 5 with everything 25% off (or an additional 25% off for already-marked-down sale items) and the store’s last day will be Saturday, September 2. The Enchanted Badger is at 335 Elmira Road.
