It’s Downtown Ithaca Employee Appreciation Week, which means a week of giveaways, treats, and other perks just for people who work for downtown shops and businesses.
Anyone who works for an employer in the Business Improvement District represented by the Downtown Ithaca Alliance can register for a Downtown Employee Discount Card online or at the DIA office in Center Ithaca, and will then be eligible for a year of discounts at participating businesses.
Tuesday the first 25 people to show their discount card at the Ithaca Farmers Market in Dewitt Park will get a $5 gift certificate to use at any market vendor, and from 9am-6pm Green Street Pharmacy is offering a free kiddie scoop or Italian soda.
Wednesday from 8-10am, OmNomNomelettes has a free breakfast for cardholders in Press Bay Alley!
On Thursday at the Downtown Ithaca summer concert series at the Bernie Milton Pavilion, downtown employees can show their discount card to get $2 off beer or wine during the show.
Then the week wraps up on Friday with the annual Downtown Olympics! Register for the Olympics and then compete from 12-1:30pm “in games that will test your speed, agility, dedication, precision, poise, and other less useful skills.”
Even if you don’t make it to any of the Downtown Employee Week events, sign up for that discount card, and you’ll get a 10% discount at dozens of local businesses all year — even 15% and 20% at a few.
