Armed robbery at Ithaca’s Vitamin Shoppe, say police

Ithaca Police are looking for a man who robbed the Vitamin Shoppe by displaying a handgun on Saturday afternoon, according to an IPD release.

Lt. Scott N. Garin of the Ithaca Police Department said in a statement that police were called to the Vitamin Shoppe on Meadow Street in Ithaca’s southwest for a reported robbery. Staff at the store told police that a thin young man “of African American descent,” wearing a black hoodie and baggy jeans, displayed a handgun and demanded money from the registers.

The perpetrator got an undisclosed amount of money from the business, and then fled on foot towards and beyond the nearby Ollie’s Bargain Outlet. No injuries were reported.
