This week, we’re trying a few new things for just $5 thanks to Bite of Ithaca Week! Once again, a couple dozen eateries in and around Ithaca are offering small bites so you can try their offerings, including appetizers, tapas, drinks, or mini versions of popular menu items. Each bite is just five bucks.
For its second year, Bite of Ithaca takes place at restaurants around Downtown and the west end, on East Hill, and even out Danby Road and in Trumansburg.
Firelight Camps, the new “glamping” spot on south hill, is offering gourmet s’mores kits. Maxie’s has raw bar specials. Atlas Bowl in Trumansburg has tater-tot nachos, chocolate mousse, and more, including a $5 bowling deal.
Stop on the Cornell campus at the Regent Lounge or Taverna Banfi. Visit Agava or Rulloff’s. Don’t miss Red’s Place and Sahara. Mia, Ale House, and Bandwagon. Heights, Gateway BBQ, Hawi Ethiopian, and the Rook. Dos Amigos, Casablanca, Collegetown Bagels, Ithaca Coffee Company, Madeline’s, and Ithaca Bakery.
It’s a way to “design your own gustatory tour of the town,” says Allison Graffin at the Downtown Ithaca Alliance, which has organized this especially affordable take on the “restaurant week” theme. Those trying out the deals can “mark off their culinary conquests” in a Bite of Ithaca “passport,” and enter to win a $100 Downtown Ithaca gift card at the end of the week.
Some snacks, some cocktails, some desserts, and some real $5 meals. A few of the offers have limited hours or limited days this week, and some are available every day through Friday.
See biteofithaca.com for a full list of participating eateries in Ithaca and Trumansburg, and check the details of their offers. Don’t dawdle, Bite of Ithaca ends this Friday!
