According to TinyTownTimes, the store, formerly Kendall’s Stamp Coin & Antique, is on the ground floor of the Dewitt Mall, near Moosewood Restaurant and Ithaca Guitar Works.

We’re told the store owner is understandably “very shook up,” following the robbery. We have learned but have not been able to confirm that an estimated $28,000 worth of coins were taken.

According to the Downtown Ithaca Alliance web site, the folks at Harold’s Coins “buy and sell stamps and coins and have an ever-changing collection of stamps, coins, notes, postcards and covers, and philatelic supplies.”

As of this writing, the Ithaca Police Department has not responded to a request for additional information on the incident and their investigation.

We suggest that anyone who might know more about the incident, or with other information that might aid IPD’s investigation, contact them through police dispatch at 607-272-3245, the administration line at 607-272-9973, the Crimestoppers Tipline at 607-697-0333, or the anonymous online tip form.
