Anything to do this weekend around Ithaca? Well, yeah!

This weekend offers plenty of live music, great food, community events, and even Batman.

If you or your kids haven’t seen this year’s “LEGO Batman” movie, take advantage of movie night at the Newfield Public Library. The animated adventure has plenty of fun and humor for all ages of attendees — even for devotees of the late Adam West’s campy ’60s movie version. The movie starts at 6:30pm at the library at 198 Main Street in Newfield.

Maddy Walsh and friends are providing “an Evening of Fiery Americana” to kick off this weekend’s live music at Casita Del Polaris in Fall Creek, starting at 7:30pm. After that, head up the hill to Agava, where Vee Da Bee is playing from 10pm-midnight.

Saturday, Trumansburg Porchfest runs from 12 noon to 5pm, with 40-some musical acts playing on porches around Downtown Tburg. Check the interactive map and schedule, and be careful not to get your car towed! Park in a legal lot or in legal street parking. There’s no parking on most side streets in the Village of Trumansburg.

There are free role playing games to be had at Free RPG Day at Comics for Collectors from 11am-5pm Saturday, and the Piggery will be selling BBQ platters and Pig Dogs all afternoon outside their northside butcher shop.

Hopshire Farms is hosting its 4th birthday party at their Freeville brewery from 12-6pm Saturday, complete with newly expanded building. Expect live music, plenty of BBQ and beer, and Hollenbeck pies.

The Ellis Hollow Community Center is holding its annual Chicken BBQ and community potluck picnic starting at 5pm Saturday, with live music from Ridgeline starting at 6pm.

Ithaca League of Women Rollers has a roller derby doubleheader Saturday, with a 6pm bout featuring the SufferJets against Toronto, then a 7:30pm bout between the BlueStockings and the Black Diamond Rollers.

East Hill Flying Club has their annual Father’s Day fly-in pancake breakfast (it’s OK to arrive by road instead) from 7am-1pm on Sunday.

Dads get a free beverage with a meal purchase at this Sunday’s BBQ on the outdoor patio at Monks, from 4-7pm.

Sunday afternoon on the Commons, over twenty local wine, cider, beer, cheese, meats, and sweet treats producers will be offering tastings. It’s a Culinary Festival hosted by the Experience the Finger Lakes folks, who run sightseeing tours and tasting tours throughout the Ithaca and Central New York area.

And on Sunday afternoon, Officer Colin is holding a holiday-themed “Epic Birthday Party” at Stewart Park starting at noon. Ithaca’s youngest police officer just turned ten, and he loves Christmas, Thanksgiving, Halloween, Easter, and Valentine’s Day, so he’s celebrating all of them with all of us in one afternoon.

We’re sure we forgot a few big options. Let us know in the comments what you’re up to!
