Ithaca police looking for answers in southwest neighborhood shooting

Police say they responded at about 10:17pm on Friday night to a report of gunshots heard in the area of South Corn Street and Cleveland Avenue, southwest of Downtown Ithaca.

According to a release from the Ithaca Police Department, responding officers interviewed witnesses who reported hearing several gunshots, “and observed individuals flee the area both on foot and by vehicle.” Police say they found “multiple spent bullet casings” at the scene, and found that a car parked in the 200 block of South Corn Street had been struck and damaged by gunfire. No victims or suspects have been located or identified as of this morning.
