Both Ithaca High School JV and Varsity softball pull out wins

The stars aligned for the both Ithaca’s junior varsity and varsity softball teams, each bringing home the win on Friday.

Ithaca JV jumped out early to take the win against Candor 21-6. It was a true team effort from top to bottom with Pia Glaysher leading the team with 5 hits, Nadia Testut and Fiona Botz tallying 4, Jenna Plue with 3, Hanna Cortright and Claire Parmenter both with 2, and Sofia Iacovelli and Alex Starostina adding one each.

Jenna Plue collects the win for Ithaca, pitching all seven innings and striking out 10.

JV plays their final game on Monday at 5pm in Union Springs.

Ithaca’s varsity  traded the lead back and forth with Dryden on Friday, but eventually Ithaca prevailed, winning 13-8. Ithaca took the lead for good in the seventh and final inning. Rae McCloud led Ithaca with four runs batted in, going 2-for-4 on the day. Chloe Kroll, Jessica Plue, Maddie Muscente, and Morgan Neno also contributed with hits of their own.

Maddie Muscente took the win. Pitching a complete game and striking out nine.

Ithaca’s final varsity game is at home on Tuesday, May 16th at 5pm against Union Springs.
