Drivers heading to or through the Cornell University campus might want to avoid East Avenue through next week. Cornell says the southbound lane will be closed.
According to a bulletin from Cornell, the southbound lane of East Avenue, which runs north-south through the campus, will be closed from 6:30am until 3:30pm daily, April 13 to April 22, for curb repairs. The west side walkway will also be closed from the driveway north of Lincoln Hall to the bus pull-off next to Goldwin Smith Hall.
The repairs come after East Avenue was closed for over a year while the new Klarman Hall was built, partially underground, east of Goldwin Smith Hall. The road reopened a year ago.
Cornell says there will be flaggers to direct traffic, which will be alternating use of the one lane. There’s no official detour, but we suggest taking another route.
