Amazon Smile is donating 10 times the usual amount to charities today only

We’re big fans of shopping at Ithaca merchants, but if you buy from Amazon.com, we hope you use Amazon Smile — a way to donate a small portion of your purchase to your favorite charity. Today only, Amazon is donating ten times the usual amount!

Amazon SmileWhether you’re buying a Kindle ebook, MP3s of the latest John Brown’s Body album, or a bag of dog food you’d rather not have to schlep home, if you start your session at smile.amazon.com instead of just www.amazon.com, the company will donate 1/2 of one percent of your total order cost to the charity of your choice.

That includes national charities like Doctors Without Borders, the American Red Cross, and the Nature Conservancy, but also local charities like the SPCA of Tompkins County, Cancer Resource Center of the Finger Lakes, Tompkins County Workers Center, Ithacare, Cayuga Chamber Orchestra, and lots more.

Today, instead of half a percent, or 0.5%, Amazon is donating 5% of your purchase to your selected charity! If you buy from Amazon, today’s the day to do it.

Not sure what to order? Why not buy something from the SPCA of Tompkins County wishlist?

Just visit smile.amazon.com and pick the charity of your choice.
