Cayuga Lake Creamery has expanded their hours for “spring,” now open 12-6 daily, and this Sunday is their third annual Free Ice Cream Day! Everyone who comes in gets a free kiddie scoop.
This isn’t just any old roadside ice cream shack. On Route 89 in Interlaken, Cayuga Lake Creamery makes their own ice cream in small batches, with a wide range of flavors including local wine flavors and using local farm produce! Handmade waffle cones are available, and they even have gluten free cones and some gluten free ice cream flavors. Flavor choices include the usual vanilla, chocolate, coffee, mocha, and peanut butter, plus rotating offerings like Blue Hawaiian coconut, blueberry cheesecake, chilifest chocolate, cookie dough, cinnamon, green tea, and more. Yes, they have soft serve!
While you’re there for Free Ice Cream Day, you can buy items from their bake sale to raise money for their Relay for Life team, for the American Cancer Society.
Cayuga Lake Creamery also has hot food like soup, grilled cheese, chili, burgers and veggieburgers, even fried clams, and hot coffee, so it’s a perfect stop when you’re on the Finger Lakes Wine Trail.
Free Ice Cream Day runs from 9am-9pm this Sunday, March 12, and everyone who comes in is entitled to a free kiddie scoop. No, you can’t “take another home for a friend.”
