Dryden man arrested following bomb threat at Shops at Ithaca Mall

The Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office says deputies arrested a 52-year-old Dryden man for falsely reporting an incident after they responded to a report of a bomb threat at the Target at the Shops at Ithaca Mall in the Village of Lansing on Tuesday evening.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrived and interviewed employees at the Target, who said a man had walked in, announced to staff and shoppers that there was a bomb in the store, and walk away into the store.

Deputies were able to identify 52-year-old William S. Bleck as the man who had allegedly made the announcement, and charged him with one count of falsely reporting an incident, a misdemeanor. He was issued an appearance ticket to return to Town of Lansing Court, and released.
