Suspect arrested in recent Ithaca-area armed robberies, says IPD

The Ithaca Police Department says an Ithaca man has been arrested in connection with three recent armed robbery cases in Ithaca and Dryden, following a multi-jurisdictional investigation. 32-year-old Curt R. Rosenfeld is in custody on Wednesday evening.

According to IPD, Rosenfeld was responsible for a December 17th robbery at the Mirabito in Dryden, a December 19th robbery at the Byrne Dairy in Ithaca, and a December 24th robbery at the Shortstop Deli in Ithaca.

Police say a search warrant was executed at Rosenfeld’s home and a pellet-type handgun matching the description of guns used in last month’s robberies was found. He was arraigned in Town of Dryden Court and remanded to Tompkins County Jail.

The Ithaca Police Department, New York State Police, Tompkins County Sheriff’s Department, Cornell University Police Department, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and Ithaca College Office of Public Safety and Emergency Management were all involved in the investigation, according to a statement from IPD.
