Tompkins Sheriff releases video of CFCU bank robbery

The Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for help identifying a man in a security video from a bank robbery at the CFCU Community Credit Union on Wednesday afternoon. A release from the Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded at about 4:32pm to the Lansing branch of CFCU, formerly known as the Cornell Federal Credit Union.

A statement says CFCU employees and witnesses told them a black male, about six feet tall, “entered the credit union, approached employees, displayed a handgun, and demanded money.” He fled the scene with an undetermined amount of money and was last seen running northeast on Sheraton Drive, east of the Triphammer Marketplace.

The suspect was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a black face mask, khaki or tan pants, and dark shoes. The video is below.
