Bus from Ithaca planned for Seneca Falls women’s march

Supporters of Planned Parenthood of the Southern Finger Lakes have organized a bus trip to this Saturday’s women’s march in Seneca Falls, NY. It’s leaving Ithaca at 8am and heading back from Seneca Falls at 3:30.

Organizers in Seneca Falls call the march “a public celebration of the 1st Anniversary of the 700 historic women’s marches of 2017.” Speakers will focus on unity principles including ending systemic racism & sexism; environmental justice; equal pay; eradicating violence against women; gender parity in elected office; LGBTQIA, immigrant, and disability rights; passage of the proposed ERA; and, reproductive rights/self-sovereignty.

Lead organizer Melina Carnicelli says, “I urge women, and men, who support the hard-fought social justice gains made over the past 150 years, and who are now witnessing bold attempts at roll-backs on these non-partisan issues, to be per-Sisters! Rights belonging to women must never be diminished in our country, only uplifted.”

The $23 ticket for the bus from Ithaca covers the cost of the ride and a tip for the driver, a light breakfast, and a snack for the drive back to Ithaca Saturday afternoon. The organizers say “We will also provide lots of free pink swag for the march!”
