The City of Ithaca says the 400 block of North Tioga Street will be closed in Downtown Ithaca this Thursday and Friday, between Court Street and Farm Street, so crews can replace a water valve “to address a faulty component that was discovered during main repair last week.”
The closure was originally announced as Thursday only, but an update from the City of Ithaca on Wednesday extended the work timeframe. Thursday’s work will include excavation and prep for Friday, which will necessitate shutting off water for the area.
The closure is now slated to last from 7am to about 3pm on Thursday, January 11, and 7am to about 2pm on Friday, January 12, so the work can be done between Court and Cascadilla Streets. Ithaca officials say local water supply will be shut off for Friday’s work.
Traffic approaching the closed block can turn left or right on Court Street or Farm Street to take Cayuga Street or Linn Street around the affected area.
